When you start a Jane Thornley pattern

Well, I decided to start a Jane Thornley pattern today. For thos who are not aware of her, give yourself a treat and go to Jane Thornley.com where you will find out about free form knitting, texture and colour combinations, and recipes for beautiful garments.

The first thing you have to do is decide which of the many patterns you want to make first. After two hours I decided on The Roving Moss Cardigan. I'm going to try to make a longer version to disquise some of the less than wee bumps I've added over the years.

Then I had to pick the yarns for colour and texture. That took the rest of the afternoon, more or less. After that, I had to put in a report to Ravelry, an excellent group for fibre artist of all kinds and little Australian babies who dream of setting fire to eucalyptus groves. But I digress.

Of course, now I'm too tired to start knitting, so everything will begin tomorrow.

The post office finally delivered my warping board and dvd about fixed heddle loom knitting, so I expect I'll be tangled in warping yarn, with cats dangling from every end. I also got some good advice on how to start off with my spinning wheel, so my excuses are fast disappearing.

My biggest problem is that I have so many things to do, I don't know where to start. This does not include cooking or housework. I have alternate personalities for that.

II will try and upload pictures soon; I know listening to or reading about me must be pretty dull. Of course, since no one is doing it, the boredom quotient is cut down.

Bye for now,
That Bishop Woman

Here's Another Fine Mess I've Gotten Myself Into!

Well, I guess this won't be worse than any of the other stuff that doesn't get read. Mainly, I'm going to try and document for the ages my trials and tribulations learning to spin and weave, with two arthritic thumbes and a natural tendency towar the awkward.

I have a Rose spinning wheel which I try and thread once a day; someday it will work.. I have a Kromski 32 in double rigid heddle loom. And that\s when the problem with warping comes in.

I will also try and show you pictures of the beautiful place in which I live. Someday I will have to leave the house and if I remember to take my camera, we'll be off to the races.
